1957: Jim's father and uncles build the last Hudson at the American Motors plant in Kenosha, WI.
1958: Jim joins them, cranking out Ramblers and hunting places to catch a few quick z's after lunch.
1965: Bobby hounds his parents into buying him his first guitar in Euless, TX.
1971: Peggy buys her first used car in Alton, IL: a Rambler with Jim's fingerprints on it.
1982: Bobby meets harpist Judith Romero at a party in Fort Worth.
1983: Sungarden, Judith, and many others play at the First Texas Ceili (later known as the North Texas Irish Festival) in Dallas. Judith introduces Bobby to Jim and Peggy. Duo Romero &
Bush starts playing regularly.
1984: Sungarden releases its first album. Romero & Bush release their first album. Melina starts fourth grade in Odessa, TX.
1985: Sungarden and Romero & Bush meet Beledi Ensemble, featuring the blazing violinist Mark Menikos. Sungarden releases its second album. Judith and Bobby join Scottish Banner with
singer/leader Robert Wylie, guitarist Gavin Winship, fiddlers Andrea Delaney and Jenny Evans, and drummer Hugh Robertson.
1986: Bobby quietly releases a solo album. Sales are underwhelming.
1987: Bobby meets Roy Trotter, left-handed genius.
1988: Scottish Banner is cast to the four winds. Robert is in Houston, Gavin winds up in South Carolina, Jenny is in New York, and Andrea is near Boston. Judith, Bobby, and Hughie stay around
Dallas-Fort Worth.
1989: Sungarden disbands as Peggy becomes ill. Judith forms Paracelt with harpist Evelyn Stone.
1990: Mark, Bobby, Larry Rone, and Betsy Cummings form a short-lived band which disperses when Mark retires from music. Bobby, Jim, and Roy form Erstwhile Companions (soon known as
Threadneedle St). Peggy joins as soon as she is healthy enough. Howard Harkness also steps in.
1991: Bobby and Roy form The Lark Band with tinwhistle player Hank Hutka and Joe Ott on bodhran. Threadneedle keeps on chugging along as a five-piece after releasing their first album.
1992: Jim and Peggy form A Stitch in Time with Rebecca Arkenburg. Roy moves to Japan, returns, and moves to South Plains College to study guitarmaking.
1994: Dulcimer player Linda Baker organizes a one-time performance called the Gaelic Song Project with Jim, Peggy, Bobby, Mark, and two other singers. Bobby brings along Sheri Morris, Roy's sister's best friend.
1995: Howard retires from music and Mark takes his place.
1996: Bobby and Sheri are married. As you might have guessed, the reception features live music. Copious amounts of live music.
1997: Mark gathers two of his siblings to form
Brothers 3. The
Southwest Celtic Music Association commissions
Threadneedle to create and perform a show called "From Celts to Cowboys" at the North Fort Worth Historical Museum. Special guests are John Burleson and Michelle Feldman. Melina stumbles onto a
Celtic jam session in Arlington attended by several members of Threadneedle.
1998: Melina joins as Mark moves on. Threadneedle performs Celts to Cowboys at the Gem Theater in Claude, TX.
1999: Threadneedle performs Celts to Cowboys with insufficient publicity in Beeville, TX. The audience leaves in a taxi. Jim and Peggy play at the Milwaukee Irish Fest, the Most High
Kafoozalum of Irish festivals.
2000: Threadneedle performs at the Amarillo Celtic Festival. They love us in the Panhandle.
2001: Threadneedle performs with world-renowned Dublin (Ireland) piper Ruari Somers and Brothers 3 for Wings of Hope in Grandview, TX. Jim and Peggy play the Dublin (Ohio) festival for the fourth straight year. Threadneedle returns to the Gem Theater in Claude with a program of train songs titled "Iron Horse, Steel Rails, and Tin Whistles."
2002: Threadneedle releases their first CD, Having a Tune. The band plays a busy schedule of libraries and community centers, including the Presidential Museum in Odessa, TX. They love us in West Texas.
2003: Threadneedle plays in Odessa (twice), Houston, Waxahachie, and Chicago.
